Buying a Used Lexus

Toyota is the world’s number one carmaker. They are famous for their affordable, fuel-efficient vehicles that are sold over the globe. But for some strange, unknown reason the company wandered into uncharted waters when they introduced the Lexus LS.

Lexus is a luxury car that was introduced by Toyota in 1989. The car was sold exclusively in the United States, where it became an instant success alongside the likes of Mercedes-Benz and BMW. This was an especially impressive debut, seeing as how a Japanese carmaker had never released a well-received luxury automobile. Not to mention the fact that the company’s lineup had previously consisted of affordable compact cars that got superior fuel efficiency.

In later years the Lexus line expanded to include coupes, convertibles and SUVs. But growth in the European market has been nothing to write home about. This is not all that astonishing since the company customarilly has to go head to head with other luxury car makers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Even so, finding a used Lexus on the internet can help shoppers save hundreds of pounds.

Whilst it is true that the company is a luxury leader in the North American market, in recent years they have committed to new hybrid and diesel vehicles. And since diesel models outsell petrol vehicles four to one in the UK, they have captured a substantial share of the luxury market.

Toyota is also one of the world leaders in hybrid technology, which is popular in the UK and in parts of Russia. Last year, the company expressed its intention to become a hybrid-only car maker in the UK. Whether the luxury giant will make the much talked about switch remains to be seen, but what we do know is that fuel efficiency is extremely important in the UK.
